A rare craftsmanship: printing with wooden stamps
Woodblock printing, also known as block printing, is an ancestral textile decoration technique. Once practiced in France, this artisanal printing method gradually disappeared in favor of industrial processes. Today, this exceptional expertise persists only in a few places around the world, notably in India, where we collaborate with specialized artisans who perpetuate this tradition.
Each Couleur Nature design is first drawn and then hand-engraved on wooden stamps, creating unique matrices. These stamps are then delicately applied to the cotton fabric. This 100% manual process gives each piece an authentic character, with subtle variations that make it a one-of-a-kind work.
